Before purchasing and installing an engine timing cover gasket, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle.
- Keep oil and filter changed for proper lubrication.
- Do not over tighten fasteners that tighten a component to a gasket.
- Do not run an overheated engine or components could warp causing leaks that damage gaskets.
- Regularly inspect engine timing cover gaskets for signs of damage or wear and replace them if signs of damage are found.
Signs of wear for engine timing cover gaskets include but are not limited to:
- Poor engine performance
- Excessive noise in the timing components
