There are many things you can do to keep your vehicle's window system running smoothly:

Never try to roll down the window when it is frozen.
Keeping the parts well-greased is important to ensure that they keep operating properly.

If your window makes noise when moving (NOTE: A noise level similar to the 'hum' of a small fan is expected.) If louder, then:

Check fuse.
Check that battery is in good condition and connected.
Be sure ignition is in the 'Accessory Position'.
Be sure window is seated in guides properly.
If replacement was 'motor' only, be sure motor gear is properly aligned with regulator gear.
Check weather stripping for drag on window.
Be sure moving parts on regulator or window itself are not encountering interference.
Be sure window is seated in guides properly.
Check that screws holding regulator are tight.
Check to see if wires or cables are interfering with movement of window or regulator.
