Before the purchase and installation of a curtain airbag, make sure it is the correct fit for your vehicle.
- Always use seat belts and child restraints. Children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate child restraint. See the Owner's Manual for more information.
- Due to the critical nature of the design of airbag systems, GM does not support the use of any used, salvaged, or imitation parts for repair. Only new, Genuine GM Parts warranted parts should be used in repair.
- Have the curtain airbag inspected by a certified technician after all collisions.
- Regularly inspect curtain airbags for signs of damage or wear, and replace them if signs of damage are found.
- Refer to your Vehicle Owner’s manual for additional vehicle maintenance practices.
Signs of wear or damage for curtain airbags include but are not limited to:
- Illuminated Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp
